How to Make an Instant Pot Sling
The process of making a foil sling for your pressure cooker is easy.
- Start with a folded rectangular strip of heavy duty aluminum foil. Bend it up at the ends. Those are your handles.

- For sizing, you can test the strip in the Instant Pot
- Place the foil strip under your pan and lower it into the pressure cooker using the foil “handles.” To remove, simply grab those and lift out the pan. Note that the foil will be hot when the lid is first opened!

That is it! You have made a super easy Instant Pot sling!
Thanks for the resourceful idea. I imagine the sling will tolerate someongoing use – doesn’t have to be discarded after use. What I wonder is: what weight will this sling support and safely lift?
I’m not sure how much weight it will support, but for anything very heavy, I suggest doubling up the amount of foil used.
